The existing slab, ground with progressively finer diamond tooling until it takes a sheen and sealed. Nothing is laid on top, so there is no covering to lift, peel or wear through.

A coating built for the slab
Epoxy Flooring
A resin coating bonded on top of the concrete, resistant to chemicals, stains and abrasion. Used where a floor needs a sealed surface or a specific color rather than the bare slab showing through.

Before anything else starts
Floor Demolition
Tile, carpet, vinyl, thinset and old adhesive come up, and the slab underneath is prepared in the same visit. Its own job, and usually the first stage of a polishing or epoxy job too.
